A group of Year 5's from Carisbrooke have had the chance to spend two afternoons with UKSA at Cowes. During the first visit they took part in a 'Wet Iron Man' competition in 2 teams of 6.
1st activity -line up in order without stepping off the plank - penalty squirted with cold hose!
2nd Robot Wars - direct blindfolded team member (robot) to pick up a cup of water and tip it over oppostition robot!
3rd - Use team work to fill the vertical & holey pipe with water to get the float out.
4th - Crossing the Solent - 6 team members all have to make it to the other side without touching the floor by using 3 tyres - penalty squitrted with a cold hose!
And there was an impromptue water fight too!
During the second visit the group took to the water, for a playful paddle on the Medina
Today we've celebrated our carnival week theme with an exceptionally colourful whole school outdoor carnival procession and stage show. Every class has taken part. Reception went back to the 60's, Year 1 took to the seas as Pirates, Year 2 were exotic birds shaking their tail feathers, Year 3/4 came as the insects - Ladybirds, bees and dragonflies, and Year 5 were sea creatures.
We were joined today by the children and staff from Clever Cloggs Pre-school and a phenomenal number of parents and family members. It was a fantasic afternoon, and a big thank you needs to go to all the staff and parent helpers who have put so much time into helping the children create their costumes.
