Mrs Downer's class have been to visit a Roman Villa, and she has reported the following;
The children all enjoyed learning about the Roman Villa and how it was discovered. They are hoping that the section under the old gentlemans back garden will soon be avialable to see too!
They took part in an exciting photo hunt where they had to find various different items in the Roman Villa, as well as name them. The children learnt alot about the Roman Baths and how the fires would heat up the whole house through under floor heating!
Playing in the activity room was also a highlight. The children took part in weaving, dressing up as Romans, grinding corn into flour, cooking, making mosaics as well as making scultptures. The children learnt alot about how the Romans lived and the kind of things they did in their spare time.
A fun day was had by all, including myself!!
IT WAS COOL .I INJOYED IT. I DIDNT KNOW MUCH BUT NOW I DO I WISH U WERE THERE
